Tyler Powell has been a Door County resident for five years and lives in Sturgeon Bay with his wife, Kori, and their daughter, Norah. Tyler grew up in Janesville, WI, but grew to know and love Door County when his family moved to Sturgeon Bay as he began college.

He graduated from Luther College in Decorah, IA with a double major in Economics and Political Science and then attended law school at William Mitchell College of Law in St Paul, MN where he graduated with his JD in 2013. Tyler practiced law in the Stevens Point area for over three years at a general practice firm with a focus on business law and estate planning.

Since his childhood, Tyler has been involved in various YMCA’s throughout the state and received his first job as a Y lifeguard. As a result, the Y’s mission of creating stronger communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility has always been a central focus for him. Tyler transitioned from the legal world to the Door County Y in 2016. He now serves as the Executive Director for the Northern Door Program Center in Fish Creek.
