Mendelssohn was 16 when he wrote his Sextet for Piano and Strings. Mozart was 10 years older when he penned his 2nd Piano Quartet. Both composers wrote them to show off their own amazing piano virtuosity, creating breath-taking masterpieces. We begin the program with a Phantasy for piano trio by Alice Verne-Bredt, who gained recognition as a composer by entering this work in the Cobbett Chamber Music Contest in London. It is hauntingly beautiful. Join Emcee Norman Gilliland on June 13th for our festive Opening Night or three other special performances.
