The Griffon String Quartet welcomes Sonora Suzuki Strings of Madison for its second annual Winter Retreat, with exhibitions for local students, practice sessions, a pizza party, and a public concert.

Suzuki Strings of Madison will perform for students at Gibraltar School in Fish Creek on the morning of January 5. A stimulating instrumental workshop follows, including performances by Griffon string quartet musicians and students from Suzuki Strings of Madison. A captivating instrument petting zoo will allow the Gibraltar students an excellent opportunity to touch and experiment with violins, violas, and cellos under the supervision and guidance of professional musicians.

Later the same day, Suzuki Strings of Madison students, Griffon students, and community members will gather at Hope United Church of Christ in Sturgeon Bay, WI, for music games and a play-in, plus a pizza dinner party for the students.

On the morning of January 6, 2024, at Hope Church, the retreat will feature instructive performance classes for students, followed by a community concert at 1:00pm with Suzuki Strings of Madison and Griffon string student. Both events will be open to the public.
