Dvořák and Brahms—two great 19th century composers who gave us splendid piano quintets. However, the Dvořák Quintet is one you may not have heard before. He was 31 when he wrote it, but then decided to revise it in 1887 at the height of his career. Unfortunately, this version was not heard until 1922, 18 years after Dvořák’s death. Here is a chance to savor this rare masterpiece coupled with one of Brahms’ best chamber works in the talented hands of pianist Jeannie Yu, in collaboration with violinist David Perry and his fellow string players.

Quintet No. 1 in A Major, Op. 5 • Antonín Dvořák
Piano and String Quartet

Quintet in F Minor, Op. 34 • Johannes Brahms
Piano and String Quartet

Write On, Door County poet David Clowers will present a poem based on one of the pieces of music.

Musicians
Jeannie Yu, Piano
David Perry & Ann Palen, Violin
Allyson Fleck, Viola
Mara McClain, Cello
