After dreaming about it for two decades, Todd Harris and his wife Kathrin moved to Door County full time in June of 2019. Prior to moving to Ellison Bay, Todd had a busy and successful piano tuning business in the Chicago area for 25 years, serving both private and institutional clients. He also tuned harpsichords for performances at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the University of Chicago. Todd is a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild and completed all five courses offered through the Steinway Technical Academy at the Steinway factory in New York. While in Chicago, Todd was also a professional member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus for 23 years and the Lyric Opera Supplementary Chorus for 10 years.

Todd has had the privilege of tuning pianos for Midsummer’s Music concerts since the 2021 season and has received positive feedback from its talented artists and discerning patrons alike. Todd also tunes pianos for private clients throughout the County.

When he is not bringing out the maximum potential of keyboard instruments, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, fly fishing, and tying Atlantic Salmon flies. He is also mastering the fine art of hand crafting split-cane bamboo fly rods.
