Hailed as a “splendid harpsichordist” by the Chicago Tribune, and praised for his “supportive style” and “breathtaking, rapid-fire passagework” by Chicago Classical Review, Mark Shuldiner maintains a rigorous and varied performance schedule.
A continuo specialist, Shuldiner has played with a number of high level ensembles including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Music of the Baroque, and Grant Park Symphony, among others. Recent highlights include an appearance with the Chicago Symphony as the harpsichord soloist in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, under the direction of Nicolas Kraemer, and an engagement with the Lyric Opera of Chicago for their production of Orphée et Eurydice, conducted by Harry Bicket.
Shuldiner is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory’s Historical Performance program where he studied harpsichord with Webb Wiggins and enjoyed additional instruction from such keyboard luminaries as Emanuel Ax and Davitt Moroney. Mark looks forward to exploring the ever-changing myriad of opportunity the musical world offers, with a goal of providing wondrous musical experiences.
