Midsummer’s Music Festival has added a new location to our summer festival. Sister Bay’s Historical Society Old Anderson House ‘Corner of the Past’ will become a concert venue as our ensemble performs in their historic barn, staged between an antique tractor and sleigh!
“We are very excited about performing in a setting that is so rich with history,” says Artistic Director, Jim Berkenstock. “Corner of the Past is a wonderful addition to the village of Sister Bay. We’re looking forward to bringing in new audience members who have never experienced this setting and are hopeful that those who frequent the museum will learn about Midsummer’s Music.”
Located at the intersection of State Highway 57 and Fieldcrest Road, Corner of the Past features the original 1875 Anderson family completely renovated farmhouse. The house features late 1800’s furnishings, historical photographs, and artifacts depicting Sister Bay’s history. Authentic farm buildings have been moved to the site and renovated by Sister Bay Historical Society member volunteers. These buildings include a large barn, granary, machine shop, two log cabins, and migrant worker’s cabin, summer kitchen, sawmill and blacksmith’s barn.
Old barn with open slats? Antique equipment? Sister Bay and Door County history? Classical/chamber music? This is a perfect concert setting for historians, antique lovers, music lovers, and everyone else who loves Sister Bay and Door County.
Tickets will go on sale shortly for this concert on Saturday evening, June 18. Stay tuned for more concert announcements!
