The Midsummer’s Music resident string quartet will hit the road on December 6-8 and 13-15 to perform short caroling concerts at businesses in Door County and Brown County.
The caroling concerts will be held primarily at businesses that support Midsummer’s Music through advertising, collaborations, and donations. Employees and their clients and customers can expect to hear some familiar holiday tunes, along with a selection of classical pieces from such composers as Mozart and Shostakovich.
The resident string quartet was founded in the fall of 2018 by Midsummer’s Music with support from St. Norbert College and the Fine Arts Institute at East High in Green Bay, and it is currently comprised of Roy Meyer (violin), Vinicius Sant’Ana (violin), Blakeley Menghini (viola), and Ryan Louie (cello). The quartet members are young, highly accomplished musicians who will be providing concerts, workshops, and instruction to all ages in the Door and Brown County communities from September through May.
Call 920-854-7088 or check www.midsummersmusic.com and the Midsummer’s Music in Door County Facebook page for the schedule of caroling venues, dates, and times.
The caroling quartet wraps up their tour with two community concerts that are free and open to the public: Friday, December 14, at 6:00 pm at Hope United Church of Christ in Sturgeon Bay and Saturday, December 15, at 3:00 pm at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor. Receptions with hot apple cider and tasty treats follow both concerts.
