Midsummer’s Music Welcomes New Board Members
Sister Bay, Wis. – March 3, 2020 – Midsummer’s Music draws on the wisdom and guidance from individuals who comprise the board of directors. Board members typically exhibit a special, continued dedication to Midsummer’s Music through their support for the organization, musicians and staff. We welcome Door County residents Ann Morgan and Tyler Powell, who recently began three-year terms.
Ann Morgan holds an MBA in Accounting from UW-Madison, and spent her career working primarily in finance and accounting. She retired as VP of Finance & Administration at Coating Place Inc. in 2017, and in 2018 she co-founded 100+ Women Who Care Northern Door County which – as of January 2020 – had raised more than $100,000 for the local Door County community. Morgan also provides support for the League of Women Voters in Door County. In her youth Ann was a summer resident of Door County where she fell in love with the peninsula. While raising her own family in New Glarus, Wisconsin, she continued to visit the county with her husband Mike and moved to Egg Harbor as full-time residents in 2017. Ann and Mike enjoy walking, kayaking, and biking together in Door County.
A graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, with a double major in Economics and Political Science, Tyler Powell then attended William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, graduating with his JD. Tyler practiced law in the Stevens Point area for more than three years with a focus on business law and estate planning. He has been involved with various YMCAs throughout Wisconsin, and received his first job as a Y lifeguard. As a result, the Y’s mission of creating stronger communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility has always been a key focus for him. Powell transitioned from the legal world to the Door County Y in 2016, and now serves as the Executive Director for the Northern Door Program Center in Fish Creek. Tyler has been a Door County resident for four years and lives in Sturgeon Bay with his wife Kori and their daughter Norah. He grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin and grew to love Door County when his family moved to Sturgeon Bay.
Midsummer’s Music thanks the following people whose board terms recently expired: Gerri Friedberg, Carole Kraemer, John Stitt, Judy Widen, and Carl Zapffe.
