Another record season!
All of us at Midsummer’s Music have a lot to be grateful for. We had a fantastic 29th season. It was a summer filled with performances by amazing world-class musicians in beautiful venues throughout Door County.
Altogether, we had over 40 concerts between June 14 and Labor Day. The high energy programs were matched with enthusiasm from our audience members and supporters.
Our four coffee talks were informative and fun. We had social events for our donors and receptions at every concert. The home concerts this year were stunning in both their visual appeal and “chamber” acoustics. We enjoyed sitting down at the table for dinner concerts with our patrons and hearing a new world premier from our composer-in-residence. (See further in the newsletter to read updates on Jacob’s current activities.) Midsummer’s Music continued the wonderful collaboration with Write-On, Door County and Woodwalk Art Gallery. So many beautiful poems and works of art!
Labor Day was a highlight for me. It was an incredible performance, exceptional reception, and a record return for our annual fund contributions at an event. We still have a way to go to meet our goals, but we are in a great position to meet those goals. Thank you to all those who contributed to and bid at the silent auction. And especially to those who bid in our Bravo Moment! We give you a standing ovation!
It may seem like the season chapter is closed and we can take time to reflect. But, in reality we keep going into the fall and winter with a renewed energy.
Now we transition to welcome back the Griffon String Quartet to their second season. The Griffon was very busy during their first year performing and teaching at over 80 events in Brown and Door counties. Their performances and outreach concerts are of the highest level. Each member of the Griffon has so much energy to offer to this residency. I invite you to read what they have been up to this summer and to put their upcoming programs in your calendars.
We hope to see you throughout the year and in our 30th anniversary season. Thank you for being a supporter!
