Just after our season ended on Labor Day, our board hosted an event at Horseshoe Bay Country Club to honor Jean and me for our 25 years of service.  Mike Schmitz from our board first suggested this.  When he did so, I remember feeling a strong aversion to the idea.  I also couldn’t believe that more than a very few close friends would come, especially since they had to pay to do so.
